What people research this for

Men with low testosterone often want to feel like themselves again, and many want to keep their fertility too. Researchers have studied a pill called enclomiphene and a few peptides that prompt the body to release growth hormone.

  • Protecting fertility
  • Muscle and body fat

What the studies say so far

In a mid-stage randomized trial of men with a type of low testosterone, enclomiphene raised testosterone and kept sperm counts healthier than testosterone gel did. Ipamorelin and CJC-1295 belong to a group of peptides that prompt the body to release growth hormone. Small studies and reviews in men with low testosterone report higher levels of a growth marker called IGF-1 and discuss muscle and fat changes. The growth hormone peptides are not testosterone replacements and are not approved for low testosterone.
